Apartments in Central Dortmund– Southern Dortmund – Herdecke – Hagen

A lot of large German corporate groups and institutes are located in Dortmund. They are mostly based in the south of Central Dortmund – an area, which extends over the train station to the Gartenstadt, a little bit south of the B1 and to the Westfalenhallen. Some of the important companies are Uhde, RWE, Wilo, Douglas, Stora-Enso, Signal-Iduna, Telekom, Max-Planck-Institute, the Institute for Analytical Sciences, Continentale and AOK. Among other things in Dortmund are plenty of cultural attractions: The theatre and concert house as well as the “Dortmunder U” and the Westfalenhalle. The Westfalen Stadium is of great importance, because soccer is a big part in the culture of Dortmund. The TV channel WDR also has a studio in Dortmund. The many requests for apartments, especially furnished, show how favored this southern part of the city is. These residential areas are very popular because you can get an apartment that is close to work and also close to the Kreuz district, which is famous for its cafes, restaurants and bars. Similar to the Kreuz district is the Kaiser Street district. The most beautiful and most popular neighborhoods between Dortmund and Hagen are along the southern arterial road B 54, the former Traum Street. This scenic drive connects Dortmund with Hagen and is only 20 minutes long. You will pass Herdecke, famous for the historical inner city with a lot of old frame houses, which is idyllically situated on the river Ruhr.  Also located in Dortmund South are the Hohensyburg Castle with a casino as well as the Hengstey Lake and Harkort Lake, which cater to sailing and inline skating. Dortmund South and its neighboring cities Schwerte, Herdecke and Witten are known for their conveniently relaxing recreational areas.  Why not live where others desire their holiday?

In the last 25 years Techno Park has shown how structural change can be performed successfully. The Dortmund Project is still pushing this exemplary development. The companies Elmos, 1&1 and Boehringer Ingelheim Micro Parts, next to many other innovative high tech businesses are located here. Bosch, Rexroth, Faiveley Transport and Siemens are also situated here. The rental offers of Dortmund West are located in urban parts, well kept districts with apartment buildings and neighborhoods with single family homes. Furnished short-term rental in Dortmund City East – Kamen – Hamm – Unna – Schwerte

In Dortmund East are cities with commercial businesses and great accommodations. Located in Kamen in the district of Methler is the sport center Kaiserau of the Soccer and Athletic Sports Association Westfalen e.V. It is very well known as a trainings camp for soccer and athletics. Kamen is famous for its gastronomy; there are plenty of bars, restaurants and pubs. The inner city part is a nationwide weekend attraction. Companies like Mannesmann Präzisrohr GmbH, Mannesmann, Fuchs Rohr GmbH und die Böhler Welding Group are situated here in Hamm. Since 1984 the town’s landmark is the Glaselefenat (a glass elephant). You will find it on the land of the former state garden exhibition, today Maximilianpark. That is why the elephant is the mascot of the city. In Unna are the logistics companies DHL and the Metro-Hochregallager Verena. You will find furnished apartments in lots of urban or quiet green districts. Dortmund East is characterized by the new Stadtkrone East area, the airport and the new Phoenix Lake. Long established companies like KHS, Materna and the airport need to be highlighted. The close by residential complexes for their employees were rated from good to very good. Of particular importance is the construction of the Phoenix Lake, which will be a leisure lake built on industrial wasteland located in the district Hörde. The project Phoenix East is the most ambitious project in the history of urban renewal. On the land of the former Hermannshütte in Hörde originates a leisure lake surrounded by residential and commercial development. The Phoenix Lake is also an integral part of the renaturation of the decade long over built Emscher River. Together with the Phoenix West project, which is located 2 kilometers west, and the 110 hectare technology park on both sides of the newly created Adenauer Avenue as well as the 60 hectare big Phoenix Park in the north, the Phoenix Lake is meant to change the picture of a heavy industry area. The artificial shallow lake is 1200 meters long, has a width of 300 meters and is 3 meters deep. The area adds up to 24 hectare and capacity of 600,000 m³. Besides 1300 planned residential buildings there will be commercial structures as well as leisure time facilities.  Under discussion are a marina, a lake theatre, little leisure islands and a promenade with chic gastronomy. Dortmund bought the grounds of 98 hectare from the Thyssen Krupp Stahl AG for 15 Million Euro. Inexpensive and amazing short-term rental will be happening here in the near future.
